When do I need a permit to remove a tree?

A tree removal permit is required to remove the following trees: 

  1. On Vacant Property - Any tree species 6 inches or more in diameter.
  2. On Developed Property - Any oak species 12 inches or more in diameter. 
  3. Riparian trees - Trees 4.5 inches in diameter within 30 feet of the bank of a water course. 
  4. Any tree required as condition of development approval, regardless of species.
