Since California is a sanctuary state, I am concerned about illegal aliens with criminal records living in our community, especially in downtown low cost housing. Over the past couple of years I have noticed suspicious looking and acting people walking the streets. Is Orinda adequately staffed with police officers and cruisers to keep us safe? Are more police cruisers routinely perusing our neighborhoods at night? We are closely located to Oakland and the freeways, thereby making us a target. Safeway patrons at night look like they could be from third world countries. Thank you.

Since California is a sanctuary state, I am concerned about illegal aliens with criminal records living in our community, especially in downtown low cost housing. Over the past couple of years I have noticed suspicious looking and acting people walking the streets. Is Orinda adequately staffed with police officers and cruisers to keep us safe? Are more police cruisers routinely perusing our neighborhoods at night? We are closely located to Oakland and the freeways, thereby making us a target. Safeway patrons at night look like they could be from third world countries. Thank you.

Every evening over the past 10 year (or more), the coyotes from Briones Reservoir area come over the hill and go through the Sleepy Hollow neighborhoods. I'm sure there are similar problems around...

Every evening over the past 10 year (or more), the coyotes from Briones Reservoir area come over the hill and go through the Sleepy Hollow neighborhoods. I'm sure there are similar problems around other undeveloped areas. The coyotes are now even showing up during the daylight hours. I have seen them around my house and around the golf course. We've all seen the missing dog and cat signs around the neighborhood.
One child was bitten in Lafayette at Diablo Foods. A news article brings home the potential problem risk to children. https://nypost.com/2022/12/04/coyote-attacks-toddler-in-front-of-her-woodland-hills-home/
The reason for my post, is to start people thinking about solutions. It is easier to handle the problem while it is still somewhat small.
