Reservations: As a general rule, the City will reserve and/or program no more than two courts at a time. The City generally keeps one court open for walk-up, public use. *There may be a time in which department programming will supersede walk-up availability (ex: youth camps). The department posts a weekly schedule outside of Court 1 which will include classes, drop-in, and occasional reservations if they are made a week in advance. For reservations that occur after the schedule has been posted, we ask community members to bring a copy of their permit with them. To learn more about reserving a court for either tennis or pickleball, visit https://www.cityoforinda.org/514/Tennis-and-Pickleball-Courts.
Court Policies and Etiquette: A list of all Court Rules and Regulations can be found by visiting our website or by clicking here. These are also posted in the display cabinet outside of Court 1. Orinda Parks and Rec asks all members using the courts for tennis or pickleball during open hours to be courteous, respectful, and kind while establishing their own priority for court use when additional players are waiting, and should limit their games to 45 minutes for single players, and 1 hour and 15 minutes for doubles.
Court Light Cards: Now that the fall season is upon us, the days are getting shorter and the evenings are getting longer. Therefore, if you wish to use a court at night, the City does Light Cards available for purchase which will allow you to play under the new, retrofitted LED court lights. More information about light cards can be found by visiting https://www.cityoforinda.org/514/Tennis-and-Pickleball-Courts.
