Summer camps run from June 6 through August 5, and competitive salaries are offered for all three positions. Due to the weekday work schedule, all summer camp staff will have their nights and weekends free!
The Camp Director assists the Recreation Coordinator in the administration of summer camp staffing, programming, training, and camper/family relations. The Camp Coordinators oversee either Camp Orinda or Camp Orinda, Jr. Camp Coordinators are responsible for the day-to-day operations of their assigned summer camp and they plan weekly curriculums, help order supplies, supervise camp staff, and lead all of their assigned camp’s activities every day. Camp Counselors assist, plan, organize and lead the physical, recreational and social activities of multiple camp programs. Orinda Parks and Rec is looking to hire a Camp Director immediately.
The Camp Director will work 40 hours a week during summer and part-time leading up to summer. Camp Coordinators will work at or near 40 hours a week, and Camp Counselors may have the ability to work 40 hours in a certain week depending on the assignment. All staff must be sixteen (16) years old and must have completed tenth (10th) grade by the start of camp.
