Tennis and Pickleball Courts

As a general rule, the City will reserve and/or program no more than two courts at a time. The City generally keeps one court open for walk-up, public use. *There may be a time in which department programming will supersede walk-up availability (ex: youth camps).

Private Court Reservations 

If you wish to reserve a court in order to guarantee a specific time, please follow the steps below. 

First-time Renters: Please complete the Private Court Reservation Application and submit it to OrindaParksandRec@CityofOrinda.org.  

Repeat Renters: Send an email with details of your reservation request to OrindaParksandRec@CityofOrinda.org. Requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance and will be responded to during Front Desk administrative operating hours. To view operating hours visit cityoforinda.org/587/Office-Hours.

This process is only permitted for private court use, seven days a week, from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Organized instruction is not authorized through this process. Reservations are confirmed once the application/request has been submitted, fees are paid, and you have received a reservation permit. Tennis court reservations will be posted and have priority over non-reservations. 

Reservation Fees

Private Rental Fees: $12/hr for Residents, and $14/hr for Non-Residents, + 3% Facility Preservation Fee per transaction.

*If you wish to reserve Court 1 for one pickleball court, fee remains the same. See pickleball information below for additional details. 

Light Cards

For players interested in evening hours, the City does have Light Cards available for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a light card, please contact Orinda Parks and Rec by emailing  OrindaParksandRec@CityofOrinda.org  or calling 925-254-2445. 

Pickleball information 

Single pickleball courts are painted on Court 2 and 3. If you wish to play on these courts, you may utilize the tennis net by lowering the net to the proper pickleball height (slide center strap over in either direction, approximately 12 inches). 

Two pickleball courts are painted on Court 1, on each side of the tennis net. Two portable pickleball nets, which can be found on or adjacent to the practice court, are available to move to Court 1.

Players need to bring their own rackets and balls.

DROP-IN HOURS

Mondays: 9:00am-11:00am

Tuesdays:     12:30-2:30pm

Fridays:      12:30-2:30pm

Saturdays:   11:00am-1:00pm

More drop-in times will be added in the future, including a weekday morning time and, hopefully, a weekday evening time.

All times are subject to change and/or cancellation, on a  temporary basis, based on City programming, maintenance, etc. and Parks & Rec will make every attempt to provide as much notice as possible.
