COVID-19 - A Letter from Mayor Gee

Protecting Public Health is Our Top Priority

City staff have been monitoring the information disseminated by the Contra Costa County Health Services, California Department of Public Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO). The information and actions that were deemed appropriate at the time, continued to evolve. The Orinda community’s health and safety remained and will always remain at the core of our decisions. Regardless of what we’re faced with, Orinda will always strive to provide excellent service in a fiscally responsible manner and to promote a safe, healthy and vibrant community.

On April 29, Contra Costa Health Services released an updated order which supersedes the initial order to shelter-in-place from March 16, 2020. The order will continue to be effective until 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2020, or until it is extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing by the Health Officer.
