The List of Qualified Bidders is updated annually. Each November the City sends a notice to construction trade journals (per Section 22036 of the California Public Contract Code) inviting licensed contractors to submit their firm for inclusion on the City’s list.
In 2010, the Orinda City Council adopted Ordinance No. 10-09 establishing Informal Bidding Procedures as described in Section 22000 of the California Public Contract Code. These procedures allow Public Works construction projects which meet specific criteria for cost (currently $50,000 maximum) to be performed by contract acquired by informal bidding procedures.
