Facility Reservations

COVID-19 Update to Our Orinda Parks and Rec Family:

Due to the dwindling supply of hospital beds for patients who need intensive care in the Bay Area, the state has applied a regional stay-at-home order across the nine-county region to slow the spread of COVID-19 and prevent the region's hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. 

Contra Costa and five other Bay Area jurisdictions used local health orders to enact all of the features of the state order at the beginning of December, before local hospitals were critically impacted. The state order went into effect in the Bay Area, including Contra Costa, at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, December 17. At that time, Contra Costa lifted its local order because it became redundant with the state's. The state's regional stay-at-home order lasts a minimum of three weeks.  To read the state's stay-at-home order, click here

Given this information, the City of Orinda has cancelled all facility reservations through January 2021.

If you are contacting us regarding a reservation refund, please be advised that we are processing refunds steadily.

When Normal Operations Resume - Reserving a Facility

To help facilitate an increase in facility reservations, the Department will be transitioning to set hours where a staff member will be available to assist potential renters with the reservation process.

If you interested in speaking with a staff member about reserving a facility, please call (925) 253-4205 during the Facility Rental Hours that are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you call after 12:30 p.m. your phone call will be returned within 24 hours of the next business day. You may also send an email inquiry to Rentals@CityofOrinda.org.

The following are steps needed to reserve a facility:
  1. Please take a moment to review the policies and procedures provided in the Parks and Facility Rental Guide (PDF).
  2. Check availability in the Facility Information website. Once the page opens, click on Facility Rentals and select the desired complex.
  3. Complete/submit Facility Use Application (PDF) and pay the appropriate deposit.
  4. After a Rental Contract and Permit is issued, sign and submit it back to the Parks and Recreation Office.
Note: Reservations are confirmed after the application has been submitted, the deposit has been received and a reservation confirmation has been emailed to the rental contact.
