National Academy of Athletics Offering Active Opportunities for Youth

If you’re looking for another opportunity for your children, Grades K – 5th, to be active during Distance Learning, National Academy of Athletics is offering "After School Sports – P.E. in the Park" at the Orinda Community Center. Trained coaches will provide a safe environment to exercise and socialize.

Beginning September 29 through October 15, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., "After School Sports" will introduce 3 – 5 new skills and concepts in a variety of sports and exercises. National Academy of Athletic staff will provide engaging, active, and entertaining activities for children to gain knowledge, acquire new skills to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity. Activities will include skill and conditioning development for sports such as basketball, and soccer. Games that add a competitive element include red light / green light, relay races and obstacle courses. Though Orinda Parks and Rec is not offering OYS Fall Soccer this year, we’re excited for the opportunity to partner with National Academy of Athletics beginning October 3. "In the Net Soccer Clinics" will be offered on Saturdays for children, Grades K – 8th, at Pine Grove Field. These clinics are the perfect place for children to learn about the game, while providing engaging, active, and entertaining activities. It is important to mention all participants will follow social distancing standards and all state and local guidelines for youth sports programming, including:

•    Each program will max at 14 participants 

•    Equipment cleaned before & after program 

•    Participant & staff temperature taken before program each day 

•    Participants will sanitize hands before the program, at breaks & after program

These clinics are using our expanded curriculum to include social and emotional learning (SEL), and meets the National Standards & Grade-Level Outcomes to produce a quality PE program that creates confidence, optimism and growth.
